“Chicago Tribune Printers Row Book Fair”

The Printers Row Book Fair was founded in 1985 to attract visitors to the Printers Row neighborhood which was once the city's bookmaking hub. By 2002, it had grown to five city blocks, and is now considered the largest free outdoor literary event in the Midwest. Jonathan Mooney will appear for a signing of The Short Bus in the afternoon.

Since 2001, SPA 8 has organized ten conferences that have convened 6,500 parents, youth, community groups, child care providers, businesses, school personnel, and service providers to discuss ways to improve the communities in which we live. In the last five years we’ve touched on many topics ranging from school readiness, to advocacy and leadership development, and a common thread that has run through each of these conferences has been the importance of building communities and harnessing their power to make change possible.
